Where to find us

Kaikōura is only a scenic 2hr 30min drive north from the Christchurch International Airport and a scenic 2hr drive south from the Picton Ferry Terminals. Train (seasonal) and/or coach services between Christchurch and Picton are in operation daily and stop in Kaikōura, rental vehicles are also available for hire at the Christchurch International Airport and Picton Ferry Terminals. The Whale Watch Office is clearly sign posted and can be located just off State Highway 1 or Beach Road near the Kaikōura Town Centre.

A state of emergency has been declared for the Kaikoura district due to a significant weather event, because of this our operation is currently closed.

Team members will do their best to respond to emails during this time and will be in touch as soon as we are open to deal with any tour cancellations, refunds or rescheduling.

PLEASE NOTE: Road access between Christchurch and Kaikoura is currently closed, please visit the NZTA website for updates on Road Closures
