Whale Watching in September 2017
September is a beautiful time of the year to visit Kaikōura. With the Spring blossoms, long days (courtesy of daylight savings) and the warm weather rolling in for Summer, it’s the perfect time to stop by before all the tourists turn up over the New Year. If you’re visiting Kaikōura with whale watching in mind, then we’ve also had some great sightings!
Weekly Update - 2nd October 2017
This week’s whale watching trips spotted Sperm Whales and Humpback Whales as well as those marine mammals that we consider to be the cherry on top for our tours – Dusky Dolphins, Hectors Dolphins and NZ Fur Seals.

Kaikōura is a small, picturesque coastal town located on the East Coast of New Zealand’s South Island. The landscapes and seascapes which surround the town create some serious Instagram #FeedGoals. Throw in a few whales and dolphins into the mix and your travel snaps will be the envy of all your friends back home.

Kaikōura truly is a marine mecca. This week we’ve had some successful days out on the water, sighting Beaked Whales, Humpback Whales as well as the Mighty Sperm Whale!

This week has brought with it a fresh dosing of snow on the Kaikōura Ranges. So if you’re making your way to Kaikōura, be sure to rug up and bring your camera to capture some epic snaps of Mt. Fyffe before the last of Winters snow finally wears off.

Weekly Update - 4th September 2017
Hello Spring! Last week has seen the last of Winters bad weather and we’re gearing up for an exciting Kaikōura Summer, with the marina getting closer and closer to completion as we send this week’s update out! We’re looking forward to bringing back our three boats from Wellington and reuniting all four of our whale watching vessels home, here in Kaikōura.

Weekly Update - 24th July 2017
Winter has bought with it some amazing scenery for our tours, with the snow-capped mountains making for a jaw-dropping background for our guests’ photos. Last week’s whale watch trips had some spectacular sightings, including Humpback Whales being spotted playing with hundreds of Dusky Dolphins on Wednesday and Thursday! We sighted four Humpbacks on our tours this week as we continue to see them stop in for a quick visit to Kaikoura on their way to breed and give birth in Northern warmer waters.

This week has brought with it some crazy weather for us here in Kaikōura – with a lot of the Kaikōura District resembling a snow globe! The Kaikōura Ranges have seen a healthy amount of snow, making for a wonderful backdrop for our guests’ photos over the weekend.
